Dracology: Fantasy or Reality?

Black (Skull or Shadow) Dragon

The most evil of Dragon kind.  Few have tasted it's power without fear, fewer have lived through meeting it, and none have tamed it.

According to The Practical Guide to Dragons, The Black Dragon, also called the Skull Dragon, are intelligent, cruel, and extremely dangerous. Their major weapon is their acidic saliva, which can be sprayed at will from a gland in their mouth. They live in swamps or marshes that have high amounts of acid in the water. Their eggs must be kept in strong acid. Spotting a black dragon is much easier as far as distinguishing them from other dragons goes. They have sweeping horns on the sides of their heads, unique only to them. They are constantly surrounded by the pungent scent of decay. However, if one were hunting down a black dragon in it's natural habitat, the scent would not be easy to depict from the other decaying animals who unfortunately ended up in the acid dominating the swamps. Being some hundred and fifty thousand pounds and about fifteen feet tall, those who have found them are typically killed.
